Careers in the Elementary School/Xello

Even in the early years, we talk with students about what they want to be when they grow up.  It is a time where they can dream and get to know themselves better through exploration.

In the elementary school, opportunities are woven into our curriculum to introduce a variety of careers to students as well as positive character traits that are necessary to be a successful student and citizen.  We use the program Xello (pronounced Zello) to introduce the students to different job opportunities and career paths they may be interested in.  K-2 students will get exposure to the program and work on it periodically throughout the school year.

In third and fourth grade, students will be engaged in more individualized Xello activities that focus on some of the career standards. The older kids will work on projects in the program and save artifacts that they will carry on with them when they move onto Hillcrest, Norwin Middle School, and even up to the high school and graduation year.
