Meet Mrs. Depew
Welcome!
I will be your child's math, science, and health teacher this school year. Mrs. Helphenstine, who will teach your child ELA and Social Studies, and I are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and fun in the 4th grade!
I strongly encourage an open line of communication between families and teachers. Email is the best way to reach me and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. [email protected]
My Background I grew up in Penn Trafford and went to Penn State University in State College to major in Elementary Education. Following graduation, I continued my studies at Clarion University, attaining my Masters Degree in Reading Education. I began teaching in the Baltimore County Public School System. There, I taught fourth and fifth grades, as well as gifted, for 6 years. Also during this time, I attended Goucher College and completed their school leadership certification program. I began my teaching career in the Norwin School District in 2010 and love being a part of this wonderful school district!
Hobbies and Family Two of my favorite things are the arts and athletics. I especially love painting and drawing. In addition, I love reading mystery novels and fiction in general. As a teacher, it is so much fun when I can connect the arts to our core subjects, like math and science!
Sports are also a large part of my life and I love to stay active by jogging and hiking with my children. Watching sports is also a hobby of mine and I love cheering on the Steelers, Pirates, and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
My husband and I have four children. Max will be in fifth grade, Sammy will be in third grade, and Josephine will be in first, and Ella will be two in September. We also have three cats, Cookie and Candy Cane, and our latest addition, Tommy.
